We have been working on the WebAppers complete site redesign in the last few weeks. You might feel bored with the current design. So that we are trying to give WebAppers a unqiue and fresh look. The new design will be rolled out very soon. Please stay tuned.
There’s a shift underway in how people use computers and the Internet. Every day more utility is being delivered over the Web. Full applications can now be run in a browser, accessible from any computer. Software? It’s no longer required. Software is becoming Webware.
We need to look at some professional and successful web applications in order to get inspiration. There are a lot of the top web applications in this place. It is called Webware which is the site where computer users can learn about new and useful Web applications. You might want to have a look at Webware 100 which showcases the top 100 web applications.
Webware is edited by Rafe Needleman. Rafe was Editor of CNET.com in the early days, 1997 to 1998. During the dot-com bubble he worked at Red Herring, where he wrote Catch of the Day, a daily online column about startups. In the three years of writing the column he interviewed more than 1,000 startup CEOs.

Lightbox is a simple, unobtrusive script used to overlay images on the current page. This frees you from the constraints of the layout, particularly column widths. However it only supports images.
Now Videobox is a 6kb script, which allows you to show your videos in Lightbox. It was inspired from Lightbox.v2 and uses some of the Slimbox‘s code. It’s written for the wonderful mootools library. And used swfobject to embed flash. It has done a really great job, if you would like to show your videos in the page with an overlay, Videobox is a really great choice.

When developing PHP applications a great deal of time and effort is wasted writing tedious SQL queries to create, read, update, and delete (CRUD) entities. This situation is exacerbated when working with objects because relational database management systems, with which most persistent storage is maintained, can only store scalar values organized into tables. The developer is responsible for translating objects into a series of scalar values. This translation process is often very time consuming.
Junction maps an object’s state to a database, letting application developers concentrate on application level details. It is the glue between your application and its database, and it is easy to use and extensible.
Requirements: PHP 5+

There are tons of color pickers out there. The main difference in Photoshop-Like Javascript Color Picker is that it has all 6 picking options (H,S,V,R,G,B) not just Hue. To create the color mixing, the larger map is made of two layers and the vertical slider has four layers (two are used for H, S, or B; four layers for R, G, or B). Some others pickers use this method for a hue map, but don’t include the other maps (S,V,R,G,B).The JavaScript is made up of some color methods, a slider control, a handler for input, and the ColorPicker object to put it all together.
Requirements: IE5.5, IE6, IE7, FF2, Opera 9, Safari 2
